STUDENT ACCESS INFORMATION FROM HOME FOR THE FOLLOWING COMPUTER RELATED PRACTICE:

Grades 2, 3 and 8: EASYTECH. This site is a terrific award-winning website that offers web-based practice in basic/advanced computer literacy as well as keyboarding practice and email basics. Grades 2, 3, and 8 will continue to be able to use this at home through the end of this school year.   Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 will be using other online academic websites as detailed below.

Grades  5, 6, 7, 8: STUDYISLAND. This is an excellent practice site specifically geared to material on the NY State Tests. Students can learn a lesson over, then take a practice quiz. If the student achieves a certain percentage on a quiz, then that student can continue to practice on future topics in the “game” mode if they so desire. Grade 5 will be practicing Reading. Grade 6 will be practicing Math and Reading. Grade 7 will be practicing Math, Reading, and Writing. Grade 8 will be practicing Reading.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: STUDY ISLAND has added a new CORE CURRICULUM for those subjects and grades already using their service that started in September, 2010. This means that Grades 5 and 8  have additional practice utilizing an ELA core. Grades 6 and 7 have a Math and ELA core

Grades K, 1, 2, 3, and 4: AHA MATH: This is an excellent Math Practice site from the same company (Learning.com) that we use for EASYTECH.

Grades 4 and 5: AHA SCIENCE: This is an excellent Science Practice site from the same company (Learning.com) that we use for EASYTECH.
